October Beauty Favourites

It is the end of another month which means only one thing in Blogger world... Monthly Favourites! October has gone so quick for me it is crazy, I actually cannot believe we will be in November on Sunday and only one month away from December & all its festivities!

Here are some beauty items I have been using and loving throughout October..

MAC Coppering Eyeshadow. This eyeshadow is a cult favourite from MAC and one I have been obsessed with this month. It is a burnt orange, copper colour that makes blue and green eyes look incredible. I love using this all over the lid with thick, winged liner and black pencil in the water line.

Kat Von D Bahau5 Studded Lipstick. Kat Von D has probably been my favourite cosmetic brand for the past couple of months now but this month I have been obsessed with this Studded lipstick. It is a matte plum shade which is just perfect for this time of year. I love the formula of these lipsticks as even though they are matte, they are so easy to apply and don't dry out your lips.

MAC blush in Pinch Me. MAC do great blushers and even though I own quite a few, they are all coral or baby pink shades that are more suited to spring or summer. I bought this one with autumn and winter in mind and I am so glad I did. It is a dark, dusty rose shade that gives the cheeks a gorgeous flush of colour and can be built up for a more dramatic look.

Thierry Mugler Alien. This is an oldie but goldie. A cult classic perfume that everyone knows what it is when smelt. I hadn't worn this in so long but it caught my eye again on my dressing table a few weeks ago and I suddenly remembered my love for this amazing scent. I don't know any other perfume that holds its smell quite as long as this one does.

Another favourites done with! It is crazy to think my next one will be when we are heading into December!! :)

AW15 Beauty & Fashion Trends

High Necks - DKNY, Hermes, Sonia Rykiel

Back in March I did a blog post all about the upcoming trends for Spring & Summer for 2015 - click here to see this post - I love looking at beauty and fashion trends as I love seeing the return of so many looks that may have been popular 20+ years ago. I like the fact that some things can never die and something you don't expect to ever be seen in again, you could be wearing it in 5 years time.

So now we are half way through October, I thought I would do something similar, but this time, of course, about the beauty and fashion trends of Autumn & Winter!

70s Style - Chloe, Lanvin

Gothic Chic - Alexander McQueen, Giles

Black Eyeliner - Roberto Cavalli

Velvet - Christopher Kane, Armani

Above are the select few trends I have noticed recently that I absolutely adore. The great thing about all of these trends is that you are guaranteed to find something in your high street stores like River Island or Topshop for a reasonable price.

70s styling including tassels, cowboy boots and flared trousers are making an appearance everywhere you go this month, usually teamed with deep burgundy or orange rust hues.
High necks are also a blast from the past and something I have been living in recently! I am completely in love with cowl and turtle neck jumpers which means I have accumulated quite a lot of them.
Velvet is something that particularly pleased me and made me feel very nostalgic. Growing up in the 90's meant my mum was always dressing me in velvet dresses or trousers and I particularly remember a certain pair of black velvet leggings covered in diamantes that I would wear to christmas events and parties!

I hope you've enjoyed looking looking at just a few of my favourite trends this A/W! Let me know what is your favourite in the comments.

Kat Von D Beauty

For the past month or so, I have gained a new beauty obsession..

I often have my own comfort zone with products and although I am constantly trying new things, there is always that particular 'look' that I will go for, grabbing the same items to do it with. I feel like this is about to change now I have found my new love in Kat Von D.

Everyone knows the tattooed beauty that went from Tattoo Artist to Makeup Artist after launching her ingenious makeup line exclusive to Sephora. I have been particularly in love with her lip products; Studded Kiss Lipstick and the Everlasting Liquid Lipstick

The Studded Kiss Lipstick comes in the most amazing black studded packaging and with the Kat Von D logo printed on the product it nearly makes them too beautiful to use. They are available in an array of bold colours that really reflects Kats personality in each shade. I personally admire 'Backstage Bambi', a bright matte barbie pink, and 'Bahau 5', a gorgeous deep plum with a red undertone.

The Everlasting Liquid Lipstick is a cult favourite from her collection. Liquid lipsticks are all over blogs and youtube channels recently and Kat Von D's are among the best out there. I am particularly in love with the shade 'Lolita', which is so popular it can be difficult to get your hands on it in most Sephora stores. The shade is a dusty pink/brown which suits any skin tone and looks so classy on. A liquid lip is a liquid to dry formula with a matte finish so you will need to make sure you moisturise before you apply, once you've done this it will stay looking flawless all day long.

September Beauty Favourites

So, we are now in October and I am back again with another monthly favourites!
October means you can officially wear that berry lip, dig out your winter wardrobe and if you are Christmas obsessed like me... get excited that December is only TWO months away!

I am such a huge fan of Autumn makeup looks and September was the month where I finally moved along my pink and coral lipsticks and prepared my berries and browns for the months ahead! Here is everything I have been loving in the month of September....

Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lip in Lolita. I cannot explain how in love with this product I am. Kat Von D products are exclusive to Sephora which we don't have in the UK so I was bought this as a gift when a family member went to LA. The colour comes out like a dusty rose brown which I feel is the ultimate Autumn shade when on the lips. As it's a liquid lipstick it can be very drying so I always make sure I moisturise my lips before I apply it, this way it goes on much easier and looks much neater. When I next go to America I will definitely be stocking up because it is so beautiful! buy me here

Hourglass Arch Brow. This amazing brow product has been in my favourites before but I have been using it so much recently I couldn't leave it out. It makes filling in your brows so much easier and really makes them look perfect. It works in the same way as the 'Anastasia Brow Wiz' where on one end you twist it for the product to come out and the other end has a 'spooly'. buy me here

Anastasia Beverly Hills World Traveler Palette. This beautiful palette contains 12 gorgeous shades in shimmer and matte finishes. I have been obsessed with wearing Morocco and Fudge together recently which I think are gorgeous colours for this time of year. Sadly this palette is limited edition so if you can get your hands on it grab it fast! For a more detailed review on this product see here. buy me here

No7 Stay Precise Liquid Liner. This is my holy grail liquid liner that I have been using and loving for years. The reason why I have put it in my September favourites is because at this time of year I love wearing thick winged liner which is exactly what I've been doing throughout September. This liner is long wearing and so easy easy to apply, it cannot be beaten in my opinion. buy me here

Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish. I have been using this Hot Cloth Cleanser for a while now and I am yet to find a cleanser I like better. This is a limited edition version which they bring out every now and again in different scents to the original. The limited edition version is also a bigger size which is a bonus when you are repurchasing them like I do. buy me here

What have you been loving in September? I would love to know!
