A Day At The Races - What To Wear

This weekend I was lucky enough to have tickets to the Crabbie's Grand National, the most famous steeplechase in the world at Aintree Racecourse. We were in the Princess Royal Roof enclosure (oooh very posh) which was absolutely brilliant, breathtaking views of the whole racecourse on the balcony and a private inside bar area where you can place your bets, have a glass of bubbly from the champagne bar and keep up to date with the races on the many screens. I highly recommend people to spend the extra money as it was completely worth it in my opinion.

My boyfriend and I only decided to go about 2 days before the event, so with absolutely nothing to wear, we rushed to the shops to panic buy whatever we could find suitable (I highly recommend for you NOT to do this - too stressful!!). The races is highly competitive between women with who is dressed the best, especially on Ladies day, so it can be quite a challenge to find the perfect outfit. I am going to show you what I wore to Aintree, and include a few other lovely outfits I have found to hopefully help anyone who is planning on going to the races this year. So, with hats at the ready, here are a few fabulous outfits I have found online.....

What I Wore To The Races

New look embellished heeled sandals

Red herring butterfly print jumpsuit

Navy head band fascinator (from a local bridal shop)

Topshop blazer

At first I was worried that I wouldn't be 'glam' enough in a jumpsuit, but that worry was soon gone when I arrived and noticed that SO many people were wearing them! It wasn't the warmest of days, so I was glad to have my legs covered, and the fact jumpsuits can be dressed up or down means that I will get my wear out of it again. I loved this whole outfit, I feel like it really came together when I tried it all on.
