MAC Lovelorn Lipstick Review

After I received this lipstick as a gift from a friend, I thought I would do a review to let you know how im getting on with it and what I honestly think about this lipstick.

I absolutely love Mac lipsticks and own many myself, so when my friend bought me this I was sooo pleased, I hadnt heard of this one before which made me more excited as I probably wouldnt have ever bought it myself and found out what it was like! Lovelorn is a light beigey pink shade (if you have ever tried MAC Angel I would describe it similar to this but a different finish!) the great thing about this shade is that it is versatile, it suits any skin tone and can be worn through out the day as well as in the evening with a black smokey eye. Its finish is a Lustre, which is so easy to apply as it is creamy and glossy but with a high pigment also. If I had anything remotely negative to say about it, it would be that it doesnt last all that long, unlike a matte finish which could last all day,I would probably put this down to its lustre finish.

Overall I love this lipstick, although I rarely have a bad thing to say about MAC ones, the fact it would suit any one for any occasion really does make it a must have if you are just starting out a MAC collection. :) xox

This lipstick was bought at SELFRIDGES in manchester, but can also be found at MAC COSMETICS online for £15.

Benefit they're real mascara Review

Hi everyone, this is my first review on my blog and all of my opinions are my own and 100% honest!

I have chosen to do a review on the much loved Benefit They're Real mascara. This mascara is a top seller and everyone in the beauty world would have heard of it if they haven't tried it yet! It has been voted the uks no1 mascara so I just had to try it and see what's all the fuss about.

I ordered it offline along with a few other benefit things as they have me free delivery when I spent over £50, this was a good enough excuse for me to spend more! The products arrived fairly quickly and packaged beautifully in benefit gift wrap which was a nice touch! The mascara came in it's signature black and orange box (of course!) I couldn't wait to get it open and try it out. When I first a applied the mascara I was quite impressed, I was satisfied after only a couple of coats which is good when you're in a hurry, it lengthens your lashes rather than volumizes but I thought maybe this would be sorted with a few more coats but instead it seemed to make my lashes abit clumpy looking instead of Volumous so it perhaps isn't a great choice if that is what you like in a mascara, but for day to day use when you might not want a dramatic look then this would be okay.
My main 'niggle' with this product is the fact that it is so difficult to get off, I usually use micellar water to remove my makeup and even this struggled to budge this glue like product. This would not be practical when rolling in from a night out where you would just quickly whip out a makeup wipe to take your face off quickly, but wipes would not budge this mascara at all, you end up with panda eyes that are also difficult to remove from your skin!

Overall I was quite disappointed, this may have been because of all the hype about they're real I was maybe expecting something that worked miracles. The pros were the packaging, easy application and the brush but I feel like the formula needs to be looked at, as the clumping and hard removal process outweighed the positives in this I feel. I love benefit products and have been impressed with their 'bad gal lash' but this time they have failed to impress...sorry benefit! Xox

If you wish to try it out for yourself, this mascara is £19.50 from www.benefitcosmetics.co.uk

Bridal makeup- first wedding of 2014!

Hi everyone! Sorry I haven't posted recently, I have been quite busy getting prepared for a wedding and haven't been able to blog much! I'm going to tell you all about the beautiful wedding I went to last weekend at the glorious briar fields hotel in Norfolk, including the bridal makeup I did on myself, bride, mother of the bride and bridesmaids.

The wedding ceremony was held at Snettisham church, a traditional c of e church in a peaceful village location and afterwards the reception was at briar fields hotel in titchwell, I would recommend this place to anyone, the food was amazing and the staff were even better!

So, on to the makeup side of things. My favourite brand to use, which wont come as a shock to most beauty bloggers, is of course MAC cosmetics, I have been using this brand for many years now and absolutely love their eyeshadows, foundations, lipsticks and everything else they have to offer! I find their products so easy to apply and great to blend and build with such a wide variety of colours. The MAC products I used for the bride are listed below-

Sable through the crease

Face

Mac Studio Finish in NC25
Bronzer in Golden
Skinfinish Natural in Medium as a subtle contour and a setting powder
