Rimmel Wonder'full Mascara Review

First of all, I love the colour of this packaging, the orange/bronze is really appealing to the eye and, as well as the clever name, was the reason I decided to pick this up when I went shopping! I hadnt actually heard of this before I bought it, so I really didnt know what to expect. Funnily enough I looked at some reviews AFTER I had purchased but luckily they were all quite good! I have been using this mascara for a couple of weeks now and I am overall quite impressed, I love chunky brushes and this has one of them but with lots of tiny bristles, it reminded me of one Ive had from Maxfactor before, I think it was False lash effect. The tiny bristles on the thick brush are great for adding volume but without clumping the lashes, I like quite a volumous look and this definitely did the job. The formula also includes Argon Oil so it makes your lashes feel nice and soft. At only £5.99 this mascara is a must buy. I dont usually rate Rimmel mascaras, I usually go for Maybelline when choosing a Drugstore Mascara product, but I was very impressed with Wonder'full :) Rimmel Wonder'Full mascara can be bought at BOOTS for £5.99. xox

MAC Lovelorn Lipstick Review

After I received this lipstick as a gift from a friend, I thought I would do a review to let you know how im getting on with it and what I honestly think about this lipstick.

I absolutely love Mac lipsticks and own many myself, so when my friend bought me this I was sooo pleased, I hadnt heard of this one before which made me more excited as I probably wouldnt have ever bought it myself and found out what it was like! Lovelorn is a light beigey pink shade (if you have ever tried MAC Angel I would describe it similar to this but a different finish!) the great thing about this shade is that it is versatile, it suits any skin tone and can be worn through out the day as well as in the evening with a black smokey eye. Its finish is a Lustre, which is so easy to apply as it is creamy and glossy but with a high pigment also. If I had anything remotely negative to say about it, it would be that it doesnt last all that long, unlike a matte finish which could last all day,I would probably put this down to its lustre finish.

Overall I love this lipstick, although I rarely have a bad thing to say about MAC ones, the fact it would suit any one for any occasion really does make it a must have if you are just starting out a MAC collection. :) xox

This lipstick was bought at SELFRIDGES in manchester, but can also be found at MAC COSMETICS online for £15.

Benefit they're real mascara Review

Hi everyone, this is my first review on my blog and all of my opinions are my own and 100% honest!

I have chosen to do a review on the much loved Benefit They're Real mascara. This mascara is a top seller and everyone in the beauty world would have heard of it if they haven't tried it yet! It has been voted the uks no1 mascara so I just had to try it and see what's all the fuss about.

I ordered it offline along with a few other benefit things as they have me free delivery when I spent over £50, this was a good enough excuse for me to spend more! The products arrived fairly quickly and packaged beautifully in benefit gift wrap which was a nice touch! The mascara came in it's signature black and orange box (of course!) I couldn't wait to get it open and try it out. When I first a applied the mascara I was quite impressed, I was satisfied after only a couple of coats which is good when you're in a hurry, it lengthens your lashes rather than volumizes but I thought maybe this would be sorted with a few more coats but instead it seemed to make my lashes abit clumpy looking instead of Volumous so it perhaps isn't a great choice if that is what you like in a mascara, but for day to day use when you might not want a dramatic look then this would be okay.
My main 'niggle' with this product is the fact that it is so difficult to get off, I usually use micellar water to remove my makeup and even this struggled to budge this glue like product. This would not be practical when rolling in from a night out where you would just quickly whip out a makeup wipe to take your face off quickly, but wipes would not budge this mascara at all, you end up with panda eyes that are also difficult to remove from your skin!

Overall I was quite disappointed, this may have been because of all the hype about they're real I was maybe expecting something that worked miracles. The pros were the packaging, easy application and the brush but I feel like the formula needs to be looked at, as the clumping and hard removal process outweighed the positives in this I feel. I love benefit products and have been impressed with their 'bad gal lash' but this time they have failed to impress...sorry benefit! Xox

If you wish to try it out for yourself, this mascara is £19.50 from www.benefitcosmetics.co.uk

Bridal makeup- first wedding of 2014!

Hi everyone! Sorry I haven't posted recently, I have been quite busy getting prepared for a wedding and haven't been able to blog much! I'm going to tell you all about the beautiful wedding I went to last weekend at the glorious briar fields hotel in Norfolk, including the bridal makeup I did on myself, bride, mother of the bride and bridesmaids.

The wedding ceremony was held at Snettisham church, a traditional c of e church in a peaceful village location and afterwards the reception was at briar fields hotel in titchwell, I would recommend this place to anyone, the food was amazing and the staff were even better!

So, on to the makeup side of things. My favourite brand to use, which wont come as a shock to most beauty bloggers, is of course MAC cosmetics, I have been using this brand for many years now and absolutely love their eyeshadows, foundations, lipsticks and everything else they have to offer! My Top 10 MAC products!

Okay, so every makeup lover out there will have something great to say about MAC and because they have such a variety of products and colours to suit anyone and everyone, Its hard to not!

Formally known as "makeup artist cosmetics" it was originally meant for makeup artists to use, but are now sold to consumers worldwide (wahoo!)

In this blog, if you havent guessed already, I will be talking about my top 10 mac products and explaining why I love them so much, post a comment below on what your top 10 mac products are, I would love to know :)

10. A product that has to be in my top 10 would be Macs Mineralize Skinfinish Natural Powder. This is just a gorgeous powder which I use over the top of my foundation to set and fix, but what I love about it is that I can use it throughout the day just as a top up as it gives a nice sheer coverage, great for when you have been at work all day and your foundation isnt looking as beautiful as it did this morning! I use the shade Medium, this gives me a nice glow of bronze colour which could also be used to contour. RRP £22

9. Mac Select moisturecover concealer. I use shade nc25, the same as my foundation. I love this concealer as its nice and creamy and provides a decent coverage which will cover any breakout you may have! The lipgloss-like applicator makes it so easy to apply, and I find It also brightens up your eyes when used underneath. I use this after foundation on any imperfections, under the eyes and on the sides of my nose. A god send :) RRP £15

8. Bronzing Powder. I have been using macs bronzing powder for quite a while now, I even prefer this to benefits bestselling Hoola. I use the shade Golden which is just the perfect colour to accent or strengthen a tan. I use this to contour over my cheekbones, forehead and down my nose and If Im being lazy i will just sweep it lightly all over my face which still makes a huge difference! I immediately feel happier and healthier when wearing it. RRP £22

7. I love macs eyeshadows, they are so pigmented and look amazing on, especially when partnered with another you can create some gorgeous looks! There will be quite a few eyeshadows in this Top 10 but my 7th has to be Cranberry. This colour is a red/pink/plum colour with shimmer and i love using this in a smokey eye on a night out! I rarely use cranberry for an every day kind of look, just because it is quite a bright "out there" colour, but if you have the confidence I would say go for it! I think it goes perfectly in your crease with "All that Glitters" eyeshadow all over the lid for a glamourous look. RRP £12.50

6. My sixth Mac favourite is now a Mac Lipstick in shade Angel. I have such an obsession with collecting mac lipsticks, I am yet to find another brand of them which I prefer, I just think they go on easily, smell gorgeous, and last for ages. Angel is a great everyday lipstick, and is a light pinky nude colour, this is a frost finish and looks great with a tan. I am doing a wedding in June and this will be the lipstick I use, I cannot wait! RRP £15

5. Pro longwear blush in shade rosy outlook. Out of all mac blushes, this is my favourite. It lasts all day and glides on so easily to provide a flawless, natural finish. I use this on the balls of my cheeks on top of my foundation and bronzer RRP £20

4. Number 4 is another Mac lipstick, this time in shade Saint Germain. This is the ultimate barbie pink lipstick, and its amplified finish means it has such a vibrant colour thats lasts. I am always wearing pink lipsticks and this is one of my favourites in my collection. RRP £15

3. My third favourite is another eyeshadow in shade All that gitters! I mentioned this previously as a great partner to cranberry eyeshadow, or it also looks lovely just all over the lid and underneath the lower lash line for a more natural look. It is a pale beige with gold shimmer, I wear this everyday! RRP £12.50

2. Nearly there! My second mac favourite is my go to foundation that I am never seen without- Studio Sculpt. This is a gel based foundation that provides a medium to high buildable coverage, I personally like to wear quite a high coverage without looking cakey, and with this I find it is perfect. I wear shade NC25. RRP £25

1. My number one favourite Mac product of all time has to be Mac Lipstick in shade Pink nouveau. I am always wearing pink lipsticks as I feel they best suit my skin tone and hair colour, and this shade is just beautiful! Its bright pink so some people who are not used to wearing bright colours may find it quite scary, but I personally love bright lipsticks. It has a satin finish so is creamy and moisturising, so easy to apply but out of all the lipstick finishes this probably lasts the shortest :( RRP £15

My First Blog

Hi everyone! Im Sarah and this is my beauty blog. I am a typical girl with a huge obsession with makeup, so after reading many blogs and watching youtube gurus such as Tanya Burr, I thought I would start my own piece on the internet!

I have worked within beauty as a beauty consultant and have been on courses in Manchester, London and more local to me in Norfolk to study more about beauty. Although, I feel like most of my knowledge of Makeup has been either self taught or from constantly watching tutorials or reading magazines growing up.

My blog will obviously be mainly about beauty, but I will add some personal bits that I think people may be interested in! Il be writing reviews on products I try, good or bad, and will be as honest as possible as I know how annoying it is when you spend your hard earned money on a product you end up hating! In the future I would also like to add some giveaways so keep on the look out for them (everyone loves a giveaway!). Thanks for reading my first ever post, there will be many more to come! xox
